Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in RareDiseaseLive. We hope our online education programs for rare disease patients, advocates and caregivers have given you the information you need to move forward with confidence. If you have questions about our programs, you might find answers in this list of frequently asked questions.
Can I still watch if I missed the live event?
Don’t worry! If you’ve signed up for RareDiseaseLive, you can access the on demand version of our programs soon after the live event ends. One of the great benefits of doing online education is that you can access the presentations anytime. All of our sessions are active for at least 6 months after the live event.
Why am I being asked to take a test before and after the program?
If you’ve signed in to a program and are being asked to answer a few questions prior to beginning, you’ve entered our virtual learning environment. Not everything on RareDiseaseLive lives there, but programs that we have enhanced to improve and measure learning outcomes or accredited programs that require testing will be hosted there.
This model for online education was originally developed by PlatformQ Health, a leading provider of Continuing Medical Education for doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers. Testing is required for receiving CME credits, but we’ve found that pre and post tests help participants retain information. They also help us continue to improve the quality of our programs.
How are these programs funded and developed?
All of our programs are complementary. We are able to provide such high quality programs for free to patients and caregivers with the support of sponsors and educational grants. The programs are developed and presented by leading medical faculty and experts in diabetes.
Why can’t I get in on my Safari browser?
If you are seeing a message that says you are not allowed in and are using a Safari browser, typically your cookies are being blocked by your browser. Safari is the only browser that sets this as a default.
To enable your cookies:
1. Please click the Safari menu in the top left corner of the screen.
2. From there, select Preferences and a separate window should pop up.
3. Click Privacy from the bar on the top.
4. On this window you should see an item that says “Block cookies:” towards the center. Next to this, select “Never”.
Once you select Never you can close this window and click on the presentation one more time. Now you will first see the disclosures information, followed by the pretest and the presentation.
